The InnoVine consortium is composed of 27 partners combining the expertise of more than 100 grape and wine researchers or producers. Partners come from 7 European countries concentrating most of the European vineyards surface and contrasted environmental, economic and societal conditions.
The teams involved cover a wide range of scientific disciplines in viticulture (e.g. grapevine genetics and breeding, physiology, ecology, epidemiology, pathology) and technical expertise in statistics, phenotyping, databases, modelling, DSS and development of monitoring devices. About half of the partnership is public, and half is composed of private organisations, including SMEs, a large winery company and a nursery cooperative.

Schloss Vollrads is one of the oldest Wine Estates in the world. Wine sales have been documented as early as 1211 and ever since. The winery solely focuses on producing Riesling wines on a vineyard surface, which totals 148 acres. The winery is located at the Rheingau (Germany) in a distance of approximately 6 km from the Geisenheim Research Centre. It is the goal of the estate to produce Rieslings of highest quality which exhibit the individuality and complexity of the Riesling grape as well as the authentic characteristics of our soil. Our tradition is commitment as well as challenge. This passion for quality is shared by each member of Schloss Vollrads, from the vineyard, to the cellar, to the Vinothek.
The winery will be involved in WP4 to test decision support systems adapted to various agro- ecological conditions implementing canopy management strategies to reduce the susceptibility to pests under industry condition. The excellent collaboration between Schloss Vollrads and the Geisenheim Research Centre has been proven over decades: for the last thirty years both partners run one of the longest lasting viticultural fertilisation trials.
