Partners

The InnoVine consortium is composed of 27 partners combining the expertise of more than 100 grape and wine researchers or producers.  Partners come from 7 European countries concentrating most of the European vineyards surface and contrasted environmental, economic and societal conditions.

The teams involved cover a wide range of scientific disciplines in viticulture (e.g. grapevine genetics and breeding, physiology, ecology, epidemiology, pathology) and technical expertise in statistics, phenotyping, databases, modelling, DSS and development of monitoring devices. About half of the partnership is public, and half is composed of private organisations, including SMEs, a large winery company and a nursery cooperative.

Competences

Vinidea is a micro-enterprise founded in 1999. It is specialized in dissemination of technical knowledge to all segments of people involved in vineyard management and winemaking (viticulturist, owners, managers, winemakers, workers). The company is secretariat of SIVE (Società Italiana di Viticoltura ed Enologia), an Italian non-profit association gathering about 500 winemakers and wineries. Vinidea has organized several hundred technical events, in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany and outside Europe: training courses (237), seminars and congresses (65), educational tours (50) in most of the wine countries of the world. Among these, the congress Enoforum, hold every two years in Italy and counting around 1000 attendees, is now representing the biggest congress of that country. One edition of Enoforum has been also successfully realized in Montpellier, France, in 2008. Through a partner company, Vinidea will organise the same event in Portugal, in 2012. Vinidea is publisher of the journal Infowine (Internet Journal of Enology and Viticulture, ISSN 1826-1590), edited in 6 languages and read by 50,000 wine professionals worldwide. The journal has large readerships in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Argentina and USA. European wine professionals accounts for about 2/3 of the total readership.
